International recognition for SPECTRUM CIL’s User Led Organisation Project

We are proud to announce that SPECTRUM CIL’s User Led Organisation Project, funded by Hampshire County Council, has won an Innovative Practice Award from the Essl Foundation/United Nations sponsored Zero Project, which held its annual awards ceremony and conference in Vienna in February 2015. We were one of 39 innovative practices recognised with an award and we showcased our ULO project at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna in February.

The Zero Project awards are made to organisations demonstrating innovative practices, which, in 2015, are focused on the theme of Independent Living and Political Participation. User Led Organisations (run and controlled by people who use local services) are at the heart of developments to extend community participation in decision making, both in Hampshire and nationally. The finalists were selected by an international panel of experts from a total of over 230 nominations from 58 different countries.
