Hate Crime Network Co-ordinator (Southampton)
Working Hours: 2 days (15hrs) wk. 18 Month Contract
Salary: £9,412 per year
SPECTRUM is: a highly respected, progressive and innovative user-led organisation which supports Disabled People to Live Independently. As a leading member of the Southampton Hate Crime Network, we are facilitating the recruitment of the Network’s first paid co-ordinator.
The Southampton Hate Crime Network: is a community led initiative comprising over 30 member organisations from the community, statutory, policing and legal sectors – including all 19 Southampton based Third Party Hate Crime Reporting Centres (TPHCRC), covering all categories of people affected by Hate Crime. We believe that initiatives to improve community cohesion and support people affected by Hate Crime are best delivered by the community. We work very closely with partner organisations, particularly Policing agencies and Southampton City Safe City Partnership to coordinate our activities.
The right candidate: will be a member of one or more of the 5 groups most affected by Hate Crime (Disability, Faith/Religion, Gender Identity, Race or Sexual Orientation), with a good understanding of Hate Crime, causes and remedies, and ideally familiar with the work of the Southampton Hate Crime Network. You will be self motivated and have an ability to develop a new role to have a big impact in a short amount of time.
